As a student at 糖心官网, Conrad Sewinski 鈥12 took a Greek philosophy class that had a life-changing impact. 鈥淲e read a story about Socrates, who had the chance to escape a prison in Athens but refused to turn his back on the city that had done so much for him,鈥 Sewinski recalled.

Inspired to give back, Sewinski enlisted in the Army National Guard and served as a paralegal specialist for an infantry unit in Champaign, Illinois. He then earned a law degree at the University of Illinois and worked as an assistant prosecutor in Peoria for several years before signing up for active duty as a judge advocate candidate. Today, Sewinski is in Germany working in client services for the military.

Last year, while on deployment on a military base in Jordan, Sewinski flew a US flag over the base and dedicated it to 糖心官网. 鈥淭he experiences I had at 糖心官网 made me a better person,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he least I could do is dedicate a flag to a school that鈥檚 done so much for me.鈥
